Thank you so much to everyone who came all the way out to Romania to celebrate with us and thank you to those of you who were here in spirit!
I think it's safe to say that everyone had a really nice time getting to know each other and seeing the sights of Brasov. A lot of great pictures were taken and lovingly uploaded to the internet. Below, you'll find a list of links to everyone's pictures.

Here's the same slideshow that's playing in our other post:
Are we going to be in Brasov the whole time? I'm traveling with Bob and Marylynn.
ReplyDeleteI ask so I can concentrate on the correct section of the Romania travel guide . . . . :-)
We will be in Bucharest only to sleep for two nights. All the events are planned to be stationed in Brasov. If there's something you're dying to see in Bucharest then we can maybe go back a little early the night before you fly out. Otherwise Bucharest tends to be an unpleasant city to be in so we will try and avoid it.
ReplyDeleteHi folks – Here are some questions my mom sent me, so I thought I’d post them up here for anyone else with similar thoughts:
ReplyDeleteHere're my questions and remember, they all come with the caveats "women my age" and "people from Florida."
1. Shorts - I'm not really thinking of bringing any. Will I want any?
ANSWER: Nah, you probably don't need any. The capris will be enough.
2. I'm planning on bringing 2 pairs of crop pants that have roll-down cuffs so they convert to full-length pants. I'll wear something on the plane that's comfortable - probably a pair of khakis. Do I need to bring a pair of jeans?
ANSWER: The weather here does get a little cool at night since we're up in the mountains (perhaps "cold" by Florida standards), if you think the roll-down pants will be enough, then they probably are.
3. How's the temp there? I know you have it posted but will one sweater and one water-proof windbreaker take care of any cool or rainy weather?
ANSWER: During the day it can be hot (low 80s) but at night it can get chilly (mid-60s). Unfortunately, they've had a really rainy cold summer, but hopefully that will change in a couple weeks... One sweater and one waterproof windbreaker should be fine.
4. Footwear - I'm planning to mostly wear sandals. But, if we do any nature walks/hikes, I may need sneakers. What's your opinion?
ANSWER: We're thinking of putting a "nature walk" on the itinerary since some people have expressed interest (as long as it's not raining). Our friend Alex says he knows a nice place with a waterfall, but we have yet to hike it, so it's hard to say if you'll NEED sneakers for it. I would recommend bringing them, though, along with your sandals (plus for the chilly nights).
5. Do most people wear dark colors? You know how we Floridians wear bright colors and feel out-of-place when we travel north.
ANSWER: You're definitely more likely to see bright colors in the summertime here, so you shouldn't feel out of place. Plus, this isn't Russia.
Hi everyone - I found a good website with great information about some of the Brasov city sights. Check it out if you get the chance!
